Tormenting Fish & Other Fun Seattle Adventures

So after getting laid off from my job, breaking my leg, losing my tenant, and other various misfortunes, I decided I was pretty much sick of Dallas. Not that it's Dallas' fault, but with all my recent bad luck, I just wanted a change of scenery. So I decided to come to Seattle for a month before I head to Australia.

In many ways, the Pacific Northwest is home for me. My brother lives here, and my family is originally from here. In fact, I was born here -- we didn't move to Dallas until I was 7 years old.

So even though I'm looking uber-sexy, hobbling around with a leg brace and crutches, and I can't really go hiking or do anything active, it's still nice to be up here. The scenery is beautiful as always. Also, the ridiculously cold, errr, "brisk" climate (it's in the 40's) has been a nice change from the hot humidity of late April in Texas.

Mostly this week I've been tooling around with my brother in all his various fishing spots: Twanoh, Ollala, Tahuya, and DeWatto. (Say that three times fast). He's been torturing a lot of fish by catching them, tossing them in a net, posing them stylishly for photos, and then releasing them. Awesome.

More adventures to come.

Mr. Trout. Don't fret -- he was liberated. Not eaten.

The "Honey Bucket." A nice euphemism.
